My PhD research explores how the interplay of prior knowledge and environmental input shapes the encoding and retrieval of different types of internal representations. I focus on the role of episodic memory in constructing and exploiting rich internal models of the environment during implicit, unsupervised learning. Ultimately, my goal is to advance a more holistic understanding of how, why, and when different kinds of memories emerge in naturalistic settings.
